Tips to Avoid Online Money Making Scams

Making Money Online

The internet is a great tool to make money at home working only a few hours a day.  Passive income can be a nice way to pay a few extra bills or accumulate some extra spending money.  There are literally hundreds of websites you can use to make money online.  But which ones are for real, and which ones are an online money making scam?

A lot of websites out there claim to pay you for doing a small amount of work, but really only want your money or time.  Some of the worst online money making scams have made thousands of dollars on poor unsuspecting people hoping to make an honest buck.  Don't let this person be you.  Be aware of online money making scams before you try to start earning money online.

Recognize Online Scams

Look for Guarantees - A website allowing you to write, fill out surveys, or do some other kind of online work won't make any guarantees.   They don't promise you'll earn hundreds of dollars working a few hours, or that you'll get paid enough to quit your real job.  Online money making scams like to make these kind of promises.  "If you pay just $40 to join, we promise you will make $100 bucks on your first 5 assignments," they will say.  Don't buy into false promises for online money making scams.  How much money you earn depends on the work you put in.  A real website won't guarantee you any amount of money before they know what work you will do.

Avoid Websites that Ask for Money - Websites that ask for money are bad news.  Asking for money practically means they have money making scam written all over them.  Why would a website charge you to create an account and login and start doing work for them?  Chances are, more often than not, they want you to pay upfront, and then have trouble getting paid for assignments.  Online money making scams like to charge an upfront fee and then guarantee some kind of return.  Only problem is, if you never get your return, it can be really difficult and take years to go through the legal actions for your $40.  Most people just forget about it.

Read the Fine Print - Online money making scams love the fine print.  In the example above, after you spend years going through legal action trying to get your money back, you will often discover you missed something in the fine print.  Like they don't owe you anything.  Online money making scams like to hide things in the fine print, so make sure you read the in's and out's of a website before agreeing to start working for them.

Read Reviews - The best tool at your disposal for discovering those online money making scams will be user reviews.  Just Google the site name and see what other people have to say about the site.  You're bound to get a few people who claim they made hundreds on the site, especially from the site itself.  Don't look to the actual website for reviews.  Search elsewhere for your reviews.  If you look for a few minutes you can almost always turn up a few good results that will decry the site as legit or an online money making scam.  If you're in doubt after a few reviews, read a few more to discover if the site is indeed an online money making scam.
